The accreditation of this program is until 2025 .
The education is performed by Faculty of Law and History.
"History" was created with a Decision of the
Academic Council since 10.01.1991. It directly originates from the
speciality of "Bulgarian Language and History" established in 1987.
After the establishment of an independent speciality "History" the
South-West University "Neophyte Rilsky" becomes the third
university in Bulgaria where students in relevant educational
degrees in History - Bachelor, Master and Doctor are trained.
"History" prepares specialists in History, Archaeology,
Ethnology; specialists in educational institutions, scientific and
cultural as well as political institutes; archivists in state and
private archives; consultants in the means of mass communication,
tour guides; curators in museums and museum gatherings.
Archaeological practice is also provided for as well as practice
in state archives and libraries, educational trips and scientific
expeditions to Veliko Tarnovo, Pliska, Madara, Strandzha, Ohrid,
Tsarigrad, and Thessaloniki.
The training for acquiring an educational qualification degree
"Bachelor of History" ends with a written and oral state
examination or a thesis defense.
