The education is performed by Faculty of Arts.
Students who are trained in specialty "Cultural Studies and
Cultural Management" at the Faculty of Arts received a thorough
comprehensive education in the field of management and
administration of culture and cultural processes. In the course of
their training they learn about the rich culture of the Ancient,
Medieval and Renaissance civilizations, examine trends in
contemporary culture and arts, tracked the development of Bulgarian
culture over the centuries. Students acquire knowledge of theory,
sociology and psychology of culture, cultural anthropology, culture
and communications. An important part of training are
subjects aimed at obtaining pragmatic knowledge and skills:
cultural policies and cultural management, conducting empirical
research, cultural tourism and cultural animation, computer
training, public relations in the sphere of culture, skills for
dealing with conflicts and so on.
In specialty "Cultural Studies and Cultural Management" students
are provided opportunities for additional training in foreign
universities within the European Union: in the cities of Perugia
and Florence (Italy), Utrecht (The Netherlands), Turku (Finland),
Ludwigsburg (Germany), etc.
The multipurpose vocational training and the wide general
knowledge obtained during the educational process enable the
graduates in "Cultural Studies and Cultural Management" to perform
a wide range of professional positions in the field of cultural
institutions, cultural tourism, publishing and museum case, the
media, cultural entrepreneurship and so on.
