The course of "Film and TV Directing" includes initial set of knowledge for the communication process in the audio-visual media and the role of the director in it. The director has to develop visual and emotional memory, artistic observation and skills to tell a story in acts, words and pictures. The course of "Film and TV Directing"  is focused on giving the students' knowledge and skills about the work of the director on the film - from script to mixing. The course provides theoretical and practical knowledge about the nature of Documentary and Feature Cinema. The course includes the phases of the creative process  from idea to final audio - visual product. The course explains the specifics of the documentary and feature filmmaking and its difference. In practical classes students will try to learn the principles how to construct logical and evocative narrative with Documentary  authenticity and feature expression.

With theory and practice the director will get into the essence of the creative process, and learn how to create finished audio-visual product in the modern cinema structure.

The purpose of this program is the training of Bachelors for Film and TV directors in broadcast and audiovisual arts. The teaching aims to provide professionals for Feature cinema, Documentaries, Shorts, TV and Audiovisual Programs. Planning in terms of targeting and promotions is discussed, followed by plan implementation.

The course have a duration 4 years /8 semesters/ and finish with a thesis defense and obtaining a bachelor's degree.

The study program has the purpose to:

• Introduce the students in the principles, characteristics and problems in the field of the directors work;
• Familiarize with the skills and qualities of the team work;
• Make the connection, that the profession has with other arts;
• Introduce in the principles both theoretical and practical in the directors field;
• Get familiar with the skills needed in order to obtain knowledge, experience and skills from the other fields of art;
• Gain experience in team work.

Expected results:

After finishing the course "Film and TV Directing" the students must:

• have acquired skills and knowledge in the concepts of preparation, theoretical and practical, for making a film or TV product ;
• have obtained aesthetic point of view and knowledge connected with the profession ;
• receive basic knowledge in film language, mise-en-scene, properties and all of the elements needed to create a film or TV product;
• be familiar, how to run both the creative and the technical team with all the tools and knowledge that the profession requires.
