Annotation

Design, editing, work with dramatic material, work with sound, effects and music, which the edited compositions of the film and television product are built by.

The programme Film and TV Editing was established in 1991. It was successfully accredited for the educational-qualification degree "Bachelor" in 2007 for a period of 6 years. Guarantees for the high quality of training are the 10 habilitated lectures, as well as leading specialists from the television and film production.

The training in the programme Film and TV Editing is related to the acquiring of the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills and is based on the contemporary development and the tendencies in the field of motion pictures and television. The students acquire knowledge and skill in the field of editing, dramaturgy, directing, cinematography, music, sound effects and others. The graduated students acquire a qualification "Editing Director" and they could work as editing directors, vision mixers, and continuity editors in all fields of the film and television art. The good theoretic and practical training gives them the opportunity to work in all the structures of the film and television production, as well as to work in foreign productions.

The programmes in the curriculum are updated in accordance with the new technologies and tendencies in the film and television production. The fundamental disciplines related to the studying of film and TV editing, film and TV editing, film and TV cinematography. The students have the opportunity disciplines from a wide range of elective disciplines related to the multi-shooting, vision mixers, computer editing, disciplines that  improve the base of knowledge of the future specialists like history of cinema, dramaturgy, sound, computer formats and others.

The practical application of the theoretical knowledge is in basis of the students' training. The university provides different practices, as well as internships in televisions, studios and productions. One of the main parts of the training is the work in a team and the numerous practical tasks for individual preparation.

The good training is guaranteed on one hand by curricula developed according to the Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme, and on the other by updating and modernization of the facilities.

The type of attendance is full-time. The students graduate with a defence of diploma thesis:

- Practical part - a feature film or short film, a documentary, television show, or video clip;

- A written theoretical work;

- A discussion and a public defence;

The students that have successfully graduated the educational-qualification degree "Bachelor" have the necessary theoretical and specific training that gives them the right and opportunity to continue their education in master programmes for acquiring of the higher degree "Master".
