The education is performed by Faculty of Arts.
Annotation
The Higher Education Act, art. 46 and Art. 66 gives right to
education at tertiary level, to anyone who holds a degree of
"Master" and has passed competitive examinations. The academic and
scientific degree of "doctor" in scientific specialty 5:08:02
Theory and practice of music, is given to a doctoral student who
has taken the exams provided in the curriculum and defended their
dissertation under the terms and procedure of the development of
academic staff in the Republic of Bulgaria (ZRASRB).
- Professional qualities and competence skills in scientific
specialty 5:08:02 Theory and practice of music.
- PhD students in scientific specialty 5:08:02 Theory and
practice of music in the course of their training and research
acquire these professional qualities and competences:
- thorough knowledge of musical culture;
- methodological competence in the field of research
knowledge;
- competence in methodology, methodology and tools of scientific
and specialized research;
- skills for independent research;
- skills to update the music theory;
- professional competence for self-teaching and expertise in the
field of music;
- initiative, focused on providing personal information awareness
and facilitating professional contacts with Bulgarian and foreign
scientists;
- communication skills and ability to work in a team;
- social activity, adaptivity and competitiveness on the labor
market, ensuring realization in particular social
circumstances.

Theory and practice of music.
PhD students in the scientific specialty 5:08:02 Theory and
practice of music in the course of their training and research got
prepared for:
- separate research in the field of music;
- scientific work and teaching at universities the disciplines
corresponding to the scientific specialty 5:08:02 Theory and
practice of music and subjects related to it;
- management activities in the educational system on positions
which require an appropriate level of scientific expertise;
- expert work in jobs involving research and solving practical
tasks: research institutes, higher educational institutions, media,
NGOs and others.
