Education
The education is performed by Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Annotation
The main goal of the program is: to give the
students a thorough knowledge on the fundamental laws, chemical
processes and phenomena occurring in the nature, the modern
lifestyle influence, management activities and environmental
protection.
Outcomes: Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge about the toxicological effects of the pollutants on
the microorganisms and peoples
- Knowledge and competences about natural, environmental and
regulatory requirements for performing activities related to
environmental protection.
- Competences and knowledge on the modern alternative energy
sources and their practical application, one of the important
problems related to the reduction of harmful emissions;
- Additional knowledge about principles of green chemistry and
ecotoxicology;
- Competences for emissions control, protection of biological
objects and their conservation
- Competences in the evaluation, interpretation and
systematization of information and data in chemical
measurements;
- Application of mathematical models for statistic processing of
experimental data and results;
- Ability to apply knowledge to understanding and solution of
qualitative and quantitative problems;
- Competences how to protect the environment from harmful effects
to predict negative changes in ecosystems;
Practical skills:
- Carry out chemical measurements using the chemical and physical
methods;
- Development and application of contemporary analytical methods
for chemical contaminants measurements;
- Carry out sampling and sample preparation;
- Ability to carry out control and management of wastes in the
environment
- To prepare environmental investigations and assessments, in
carrying out various activities in the management of the
environment
