The education is performed by Faculty of Public Health.

Annotation

The curriculum of the specialty is developed according to the standards and requirements of International Assassination of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) and Standing Liaison Committee of Speech and Language Therapists / Logopedists in the European Union (CPLOL).

The aim of the program is to offer the students knowledge of speech, language, voice and hearing disorders, etiology, disorders mechanism and symptomatic. Students are trained to know and use diagnostic and therapeutic instruments and measures in order to treat a variety of speech and language disorders in children and adults such us:

  • Specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia)
  • Motor-speech disorders
  • Communication disorders in persons with emotional-behavioral diseases
  • Communication disorders in children with multiple disorders
  • Communication disorders in psychiatrics
  • Communication disorders in children with cerebral palsy
  • Articulation disorders
  • Language disorders during the childhood
  • Acquired language disorders
  • Fluency disorders
  • Voice disorders
  • Swallowing disorders
  • Hearing disorders
  • Communication disorders in children with cleft palate.

The clinician is able to consult children with communication disorders, their parents, adults with communication disorders and their families. The clinician works with a team of audiologists, ophthalmologists, orthodontists, otorhinolaryngologists, phoniatricians, neurologists, psychologists, psychiatrists and specialized clinical institutions, centers for rehabilitation of hearing and speech, diagnostic clinical centers, hospitals.

Students in Logopedics who demonstrate high scores in training and are fluent in English or other foreign language may join training abroad via Erasmus+ Programme for student exchange for the duration of one term. The Department of Logopedics has bilateral agreements with leading universities in USA and Europe.

The lecturers from the Department are participating in international programmes for academic exchange and welcomes visiting lecturers from EU universities, US and others.

The Master Programme in Logopedics is the first university degree only fulltime enrolment, two years of training. Students are rewarded 120 ECTS for the entire period of training.

The students graduate with diploma thesis defense and practical exam.
