Qualification course for acquiring vocational teacher qualification in subjects related to touris

On the basis of Article 3 (1) and the second subparagraph of Article 4 of Ordinance relating state requirements for acquiring the professional qualification "teacher", the Faculty of Economics at South-West University "Neofit Rilski" Blagoevgrad conducts a part-time qualification course for acquiring vocational teacher qualification in subjects related to tourism.

The vocational training is intended for graduates who have obtained the following educational and qualification degrees: "Professional bachelor's degree in…", "Bachelor's" and "Master's" degree in the professional field - 3.9. Tourism and degrees "Economics in tourism" and "Tourism geography", which are from another professional field. The training is organized in accordance with the state requirements for this degree and with the requirements of Ordinance relating state requirements for acquiring the vocational teacher qualification.

Students who are graduating with an educational and qualification degree "Professional bachelor's degree in…", "Bachelor's" and "Master's" degree and who are in the process of obtaining a vocational teacher qualification are being prepared for teaching subjects related to tourism in the pre-primary and school education system.

Aim of the specialization:

For a professional with qualitative theoretical and practice-related knowledge and skills, who is able to perform their professional obligations, to be prepared via learning a set of subjects.

Professional knowledge, skills and competencies:

A teacher in subjects related to tourism must have specialized preparation which includes: skills for independent and accurate identification of problematic situations and  finding alternatives for their solving skills; disregarding single and random knowledge skills and possessing methodological approaches towards the general, global and systematic knowledge;  interpretation of the study materials skills. Creativity towards the thematic material in secondary school and skills for indeterminate improvement of general pedagogical abilities and the professional pedagogical style are of utmost importance for the teacher.

• ability to apply their integrated knowledge in teaching;
• skills for presenting subject materials in a systematic, precise and exhaustive way;
• capacity to interpret the teaching material and to approach different problems with creativity;
• ability to select methods and approaches of educating that are in accordance with the aims of teaching in school in view of achieving higher final results;
• capacity to lead the teaching process in subjects related to tourism;
• periodically increasing qualification independently or at corresponding educational institutions.

Employability:

Graduates can implement the qualification that they obtain in the system of secondary education. A successful professional fulfillment is guaranteed by the classical university character of the courses combined with specific personal qualities and by the preparation in the process of acquiring the vocational teacher qualification.

The people who successfully graduated from their training in accordance with the curriculum are given a certificate for vocational qualification.

Required application documents:

1. An application to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at South-West University "Neofit Rilski" - Blagoevgrad.
2. A copy of the higher education diploma or a statement on compliance that the person is a third or fourth year student.
3. Paid administrative assistance charge slip.

The course finishes with a state practical application exam at a school.
The successfully graduated students receive a Certificate for vocational qualification.

Documents are submitted at cabinet n.309 at the Faculty of Economics.
