"TEACHER OF MUSIC"

Qualifying course for obtaining the professional qualification of "Teacher of Music"

Pursuant to article 3 p. 2 and article 4 paragraph 2 of the Regulation on the state requirements for obtaining the professional qualification of "Teacher", the Faculty of Arts with "Neophyte Rilski" Southwest University of Blagoevgrad, conducts a part-time qualifying course for obtaining the professional qualification of "Teacher of Music".

This training is designed for holders of academic & qualification degrees of "Bachelor" and "Master" in field 8.3. Musical and dance art, or field 1.2 Pedagogy, and is organized in compliance with the Regulation on the state requirements for obtaining the professional qualification of "Teacher" and the Rules of the University.

Purpose of specialisation:

By studying a set of subjects, to prepare specialists with high-quality theoretical and practice-related knowledge and skills, able to perform one's professional duties.

 

Professional skills, knowledge, competences:

Graduates by the professional qualification of "Teacher of MUSIC" are ready for work under the modern conditions of musical education at kindergartens/nursery schools, comprehensive schools, extra-curricular classes of music, music schools for children. They may implement the qualification obtained in the system of pre-school, primary, secondary and high school education.

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCES OF THE GRADUATES IN THE PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION "TEACHER OF MUSIC":

-          Preparing school documentation regarding annual distribution of the lessons, as regulated by the syllabus of Music of the Ministry of Education and Science and by the State educational requirements;

-          To apply in a complex manner one's knowledge in teaching activities;

-          To teach the lessons related to the development of musical talents and (students' knowledge;) extending children's and students' musical culture;

-          To be able to interpret the lessons and to use creative approach to individual issues;

- independently or at the respective educational institutions, to regularly update and improve one's qualifications.

Professional career:

As per National Classification of jobs and professions in the Republic of Bulgaria (year 2011) the positions that may be occupied by the teachers of music are, as follows:

Class 'Specialists':

23 - Teachers:

-          Unit group 2330-5004 - Teacher, compulsory subject in the primary / junior high school stage;

-          Unit group 2330 -5005 - Teacher, compulsory subject in the secondary / high school stage;

-          Unit group 2342 - Teacher, Music at kindergarten;

-          Unit group 2354 - 5001- Teacher/Instructor, Music in classes by interests;

-          Unit group 2354- 5002 - Director, Music in servicing units within the public education system;

-          Unit group -  Teacher, Music at a Centre of Support for Personal Development and at the National Palace of Children

Documents needed for applying:

1. Application to the Dean of the Faculty of Arts with "Neofit Rilski" SWU - Blagoevgrad;
2. A copy of the university diploma or a certificate proving that the applicant is a second-or third-year student.
3. Administrative service fee.

The course ends with a state practical-applied examination at school.
The successful graduates of the qualifying course are issued a Certificate of Professional Qualification.

Documents may be submitted within the period: the 10^th September 2019 to the 10^th October 2019.

The applications and documents are to be filed in room 580, Building 1 of "N. Rilski" SWU.
