General information
Students are being exchanged within the Erasmus+ program on the
basis of bilateral agreements between South-West University and
higher education institutions from EU, EEA and Turkey.
Eligible participants in students` mobility are all students at
South-West University "Neofit Rilski" at all levels (bachelor,
master, PhD) and all forms of education (full-time, part-time) that
meet the criteria mentioned below.
The duration of the study period under the Erasmus+ program
depends on the duration of the semester at the host university, but
minimum 3 (three) months (or one trimester).
For the study period students are given financial assistance. It
will not fully cover the mobility costs. It is given to cover the
additional costs resulting from the difference of the standard of
living in the home and host country. Erasmus+ financial support is
awarded for a real period of stay, i.e. actual period of study at
the host institution (written in the individual contract with the
student and in the certificate of attendance issued by the host
institution).
Students have the right to participate in student study mobility
under the Erasmus+ program only once.
Participation criteria
- Students should have Bulgarian citizenship or permanent
residence in BG
- Students should have completed two semesters of their education
period.
- Students should have not participated in a study student
mobility
- Students should have sufficient knowledge in a foreign
language
- Students should have an average grade of their education period
not less than VERY GOOD
Selection procedure
- Students apply for an Erasmus+ exchange in the faculty in which
they are being educated
- The Erasmus+ Faculty committee is examining the students
- The names of the selected students are announced on the
information fields in the faculties and on the university
webpage.
- Selected students are having periodical meetings with the
Erasmus+ coordinators
Selected students are given an Erasmus+ student status. All
rights and obligations of the Erasmus+ students are pointed in the
Students Erasmus Charter.

Before the mobility period is started the student:
- Prepares (with the help of the Erasmus+ faculty coordinator) an
individual study program which should be as much relevant as
possible to the one the student is studying in SWU;
- Signs an individual contract for financial support.
