The international cooperation of the South-West University "Neofit Rilski" is organized with foreign universities, academies and other educational, research and cultural institutions, international foundations, fonds and other institutions for the purpose to disseminate the achievements of Bulgarian education, science and culture and the implication of foreign experience in the activities of the University.

The international cooperation is carried out of the International Relation Office on the basis of international contracts concluded in two areas: institutional cooperation at university level and cooperation at faculty level.

Conclusion of institutional academic agreement

1. Academic Cooperation Agreement at university level is concluded in case  the activities under the agreement will involve at least three faculties of South-West University "Neofit Rilski" (SWU).
2. The proposal  to conclude a framework agreement with a foreign or national institution (initiated by SWU "Neofit Rilski" or the other party) at university level is presented in the International Relation Office.
3. The proposal is considered by a  group of experts:
   • Assoc. Prof. Borislav Yurukov, PhD (Vice Rector of Research)
   • Prof. Dobrinka Georgieva, Ph.D. (Head of the International Relations Office)
4. The Commission considers the proposal and discussed and assessed:
   • Recognition of the partner at the international, respectively national level;
   • Motives for the implementation of joint activities with the institution;
   • Contractual content, planned activities and applicability of the results of their implementation;
   • Contractual arrangements, rights, liabilities and potential benefits to the university.
5. The Commission decides to conclude the agreement on the above mentioned criteria.
6. The Academic Cooperation Agreements for international cooperation are signed by the rector of the university.

Conclusion of academic agreement at faculty level

1. Academic Cooperation Agreement at faculty level is concluded in case the activities under the agreement will involve only one faculty of South-West University "Neofit Rilski".
2. The proposal  to conclude a framework agreement with a foreign or national institution (initiated by SWU "Neofit Rilski" or the other party) at faculty level is presented at the Dean of the Faculty.
3. The Dean of the Faculty with the Vice-Dean  of Internation Cooperation consider the proposal and discussed and assessed:
   • Recognition of the partner at the international, respectively national level;
   • Motives for the implementation of joint activities with the institution;
   • Contractual content, planned activities and applicability of the results of their implementation;
   • Contractual arrangements, rights, liabilities and potential benefits to the university.
4. The Dean of the Faculty with the Vice-Dean of Internation Cooperation decide to conclude the agreement on the above mentioned criteria.
5. The Academic Cooperation Agreements for international cooperation are signed by the Dean of the Faculty.
6. A copy of the signed bilatteral agreement for international cooperation is provided in International Relation Office.
