The education is performed by Faculty of Law and History.
Archives and Museums. Conservation of the cultural heritage in
the information society, Master's Degree organized by The
Department of History at the Law and History Faculty.
The mission of this master's programme is to suggest education,
open for the dialogue between various historical and cultural
traditions rationalizing it through a thorough understanding of
their documents and subjects and the ways the past and the
communication with different cultures are discovered, classified,
preserved, used, and presented.
The purpose of the programme is to prepare modern specialists
not only for the state archives and museums but for the state
administration, the archives of companies and NGOs, for cultural
and echo tourism etc.
The scientific excursions are a part of the process of
education. The students visit and become directly acquainted with
the archives and the museum in Veliko Turnovo, Sofia and Belgrade.
The optional programme includes public lectures of famous Bulgarian
and foreign scholars who are specialists in archives, museums or
history.
It is a full-time education with a duration period of five
semesters. It ends with a preparation and defense of master's
thesis and with a Master's Degree in History.
