The faculty was established with a resolution of the University Senate - Minutes # 4 from November 13, 1994. Teaching is conducted by highly qualified specialists and lecturers, some of the most prominent figures of art in Bulgaria: artists, musicians, actors, choreographers, cultural scientists. Classes are held in appropriately equipped halls.

The good relationships of the Faculty with the cultural institutions in the town of Blagoevgrad - "Pirin" State Ensemble of Folklore Singing and Dancing, Chamber Opera of Blagoevgrad,  "N. Y. Vaptsarov" State Theater, "Macedonia Art" Artists' Society, Radio of Blagoevgrad - provide the students with the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic gifts and achievements in the area of their major throughout the course of their studies.

The co-existence of the different types of art in one faculty further contributes to their joint activities.

The Faculty of Arts is an initiator of the National Student Festival of Arts, which is a forum of artistic manifestation in all the fields of art: cinema, drama, music, dances, fine arts, fashion, etc.
